Athena v14- SOLD by YouniquelyChic Athena v14- SOLD by YouniquelyChic
Athena:: The Greek goddess of wisdom, war, the arts, industry, justice and skill. She was the favorite child of Zeus. Her mother was Metis, goddess of wisdom and Zeus' first wife. In fear that Metis would bear a son mightier than himself. Zeus swallowed her and she began to make a robe and helmet for her daughter. The hammering of the helmet caused Zeus great pain in the form of headaches and he cried out in agony. Skilled Hephaestus ran to his father and split his skull open and from it emerged Athena, fully grown and wearing her mother's robe and helmet. She is the virgin mother of Erichthnonius.

Bold and beautiful this statement necklace is sure to get many a compliment!

Three black retaining rings wired together using 28ga black wire to form the framework which supports a delicate and unusual brass gear at the bottom with an 10mm light siam Swarovski marguerite lochrose crystal in front and a bold and intricate black clock hand which moves back and forth freely when you move below it. Off to one side a single dark red (siam) Swarovski crystal teardrop dangles. I love how this pendant is pretty much all one color (black) with a bold splash of red and gold and more subtle blood red in the teardrop. it almost seems to take in all available light and then release it through the crystal in the center!

Pendant Dimensions: 2 3/4 inches tall x 1 1/4 inches wide
